You will need a laptop, and a local web server installed on your laptop so you can easily work on websites. You could also work on a hosted site, but working live on a site often disrupts it and it’s better and faster to work on a local server. We’ll add notes on how to setup a local server soon.
This a rough plan right now…

9:00 – Opening remarks, and complete setup of local servers on laptops
9:20 – Tactics for picking themes
9:40 – Theme settings in the admin
10:00 – Workshop – Theme settings
10:20 – What is a child theme and creating child themes
10:40 – Workshop – Creating your own child theme
11:00 – Intro to HTML & CSS with workshop
12:00 – Lunch
