Ottawa WordPress Workshop, Sept 26th, 2012
- Wednesday, September 26, 2012, 6:00 PM
- Ottawa Public Library, Sunnyside Branch
“Intro to WordPress Plugin Development”
NOTE: NEW LOCATION – Sunnyside Library!!!
This workshop is for anyone who may be interested in, or is curious about, creating their own plugin for WordPress, but does not necessarily have coding experience.
As we construct a simple plugin to add an awesome widget to your sidebars, we’ll summarize the resources needed to help you create plugins. While you will definitely need to learn PHP, HTML and CSS to create plugins on your own, no coding ability is required for this workshop. You only need to be able cut and paste text into a file you create on your web site.
To work along during the workshop you will need access to your hosting account or a local install of WordPress, but the workshop is also intended to be a tutorial that you can complete at a later time.
To connect to WiFi, you need your library card.
Some parking is available in the library lot, there is also parking on the streets west of Bank Street. (Almyer Av.)
The classroom is downstairs. Enter the main doors, head right, and down the stairs. Turn left at the bottom of the stairs and follow the signs to the meeting rooms.
Cost: $4, Exact Change would be greatly appreciated!
